Gretchen M. Miller is a registered board-certified art therapist in the Creative Forces Network serving the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System. Gretchen provides art therapy telehealth treatment for the Rural Veteran Tele-Rehabilitation Initiative (RVTRI) with the Carl A. Nunziato VA Outpatient Clinic in Youngstown, Ohio. She has over 20 years of experience practicing art therapy in NE Ohio and in 2009 became certified as an advanced trauma practitioner. Gretchen’s clinical and community-based work has included working with youth, families, and adults managing trauma stress, grief & loss, homelessness, and mental health challenges. She obtained her Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Ohio’s Ursuline College, is a Past President of the Buckeye Art Therapy Association (BATA), served on the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) Board of Directors, and as an Associate Editor of the AATA’s Journal. Gretchen is also an art therapy educator, author, and speaker. Her professional interests include the application of technology and digital media in art therapy, the therapeutic use of papermaking, trauma-competent care, and community organizing.
