Indy Art Center, in partnership with Armed Services Arts Partnership, will expand the ArtTroop Program to provide additional no-cost art education classes and workshops to veterans, military service members, spouses, family members, and caregivers on a semester basis. ArtTroop is a free 10-month visual art program designed to empower military veterans and service members through creativity and self-expression. The program will culminate with a professional exhibition that is on display during the annual Veterans Art Day. ArtTroop strives to create an empowering, artistic space conducive to artmaking and emotional healing, supporting participants in navigating life within or beyond service, developing coping skills to manage emotions that are often difficult to articulate, or finding a community of support and commonality.
