Kentucky Shakespeare's Shakespeare with Veterans Program brings together veterans from all branches and dates of service for weekly discussion groups and theatre arts performance ensembles. Through Shakespeare's stories and human truths, participants talk about their re-entry into civilian society and experience with PTSD and moral injury, supporting each other while helping educate civilians and destigmatize the military. The program allows anyone who walks in the door to let their guard down and feel normal for a few hours each week, an essential part of their healing and re-entry process. The meetings and performances are free of charge, and the program is designed to support the needs of veterans as they navigate their re-entry into civilian society.
