Dr. Jay M. Uomoto serves as the Clinical Research Director for Creative Forces. After earning his BS in Psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle, he went on to receive his MA in Theology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He holds a Certification in Health Care Ethics from the University of Washington. Dr. Uomoto was the National Mental Health Director for the Veterans Affairs/Department of Defense Collaboration in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has been a member of the academic faculties of the University of Washington School of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, and Seattle Pacific University. He has also served as Clinical Director of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at the University of Washington Medical Center, Clinical Director at Shepherd Center Acquired Brain Injury Program in Atlanta, and Director of the Center for Polytrauma Care at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle. His past research has focused on interventions for those with traumatic brain injury and those who have Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
