Karen Olean is a music therapist in the Creative Forces Network and serves veterans at the Carl Nunziato Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, a part of the Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System. She also provides telehealth services. Karen is a board certified music therapist, who has practiced for the last eight years, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata University in 2016, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music performance from Westminster College in 2011.  Karen is also a licensed professional counselor for the state of Pennsylvania and is a third phase Magnified Healer®. Karen has worked with various child and adult populations to help improve their emotional well-being and recover from psychological health conditions by engaging their creative process through music-making. She has provided music therapy to military service members in outpatient as well as a partial hospitalization program and inpatient setting to help them focus on trauma recovery from a holistic approach supporting their mind, body and spirit. Karen is currently offering music therapy to service members experiencing mental health symptoms affecting their process of daily living so they may regain a sense of autonomy and find their purpose in the here and now.
