Alynthia joins the Creative Forces Clinical Team in support of a new Disaster Response pilot program. This program explores the value and impact of therapeutic, non-clinical arts engagement for military and veteran connected populations in communities that are vulnerable to disaster.
Alynthia’s training as a Certified K-12 Educator and Dance-Movement Therapist positions her well for this role. She draws from a career blended by natural disaster encounters, from weathering Hurricane Katrina in Jackson, MS, to evading the Maui wildfires in Lahaina, HI. Alynthia turned survival into empowerment as a first responder and essential worker within the field of education. Her career is established upon a firm foundation of promoting holistic health and wellness in the classroom community through social-emotional literacy and lifelong learning.
Alynthia credits training in leadership, charity, and stewardship from organizations such as the Memphis Teacher Residency, AmeriCorps, and Peace Corps Response. She received her Post Graduate Certification in Dance/Movement Therapy from Antioch University, MA in Urban Education from Union University, and BS in Elementary Education from Belhaven University.
