Clayton J. Cooke is a music therapist in the Creative Forces Network at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune/Intrepid Spirit Center. Clayton was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and was raised the son of a US Army veteran. With a passion for music and helping others, he pursued education at East Carolina University and earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Therapy and Saxophone Performance. Following his undergraduate studies, Clayton continued his education at Appalachian State University, earning the Master of Music Therapy degree and graduate certificate in expressive arts therapy. He has worked with a variety of healthcare populations representing groups throughout the lifespan: neonatal intensive care, pediatric health, adult general medical, adult intensive care, cancer care, end-of-life care, assisted living, and specialized memory care. In May 2020, Clayton returned to Eastern North Carolina to join the Creative Forces Network and serve the military community at Camp LeJeune and Jacksonville, North Carolina.
